Almost there ...

Good morning.

Last day (worst day) of rain this week and then we have a few days of sun before the next rain pattern.  Almost there.  We need the sun -- collectively, literally and figuratively.  Part the clouds, see the sun.

My BIL isn't doing well post surgery and yesterday was a rough one.  Pathology came back as stage 3 aggressive cancer (they thought stage 3 was off the table).  His surgical resection didn't hold and they took him to surgery late last night to clean him out and give him an ileostomy.  Probable 6 months of treatments starting in April -- takes treatment over his daughter's wedding reception in August (they eloped last year).

My sister won't be at my son's wedding either.  It's a disappointment.  I understand (of course), but it's sad.  She was set to "watch" my mother and be my righthand gal.  She'll have missed all of his wedding celebration and I will miss sharing it with my sister.

C-virus is local.  Atlanta has it's first cases and they're in a local town.  It's not a fear of the virus, per se, it's what this means for all activities, etc.  Wedding stuff, birthday travel, socializing, etc.  The family who contracted it is freshly home from Milan.  The son went to school and didn't realize he was sick.  We'll see if this is contained or if this town becomes a hot spot in the next couple of weeks.  Can't be dumb about it -- if it's an outbreak, I'm staying home as much as possible.

I'll say it again ... 2020 is NOTHING like I expected it.

I'm DETERMINED to salvage this year and find the FUN in it.  I CAN believe there is GOOD in this year (even though it doesn't look as I expected), but FUN is totally missing.  Not exactly sure HOW I'll find it, but I'm working on it.  Sun is ALWAYS there -- just need to part the clouds.

More errands today and lunch with a friend.  I need to get out of the house and do a little socializing.  I'm suppose to hike (probably a paved path walk) and coffee with another friend tomorrow.  Hubby leaves Sunday for a week of skiing.  I need to plan some FUN over next week of all rain or things will be super blah.

Stay dry.  Stay healthy.  Later gators.
