Craft Day

For anyone who knows me, they know I WISH I were the crafty type and sometimes I THINK I can - then reality strikes.  (Same goes for gardening, but that's a story for another day.)

Anyway, in the name of CONNECTION, a former work friend invited me to her craft party tonight.  Making Halloween wreaths.  This was just when I started doing affirmations about connection and finding my strong Tribe, etc.  Perfect - YES I will go!!  Yes, I will RE-CONNECTION with so many friends.

Then I find out it's bring your own craft and supplies and we sit together and do it.  WHAT?!?!?!  NO!!  I want to pay $$$, have my supplies bought for me, copy the step-by-step and be FINISHED.

I took my craftiest friend to Michael's and asked her to think Kindergarten easy (I'd even take preschool).  No way was I making a wreath I didn't need, would cost a small fortune and I would dump in the trash.  After lots of no-go ideas, we actually came up with a PERFECT craft for me (and she bought the stuff too, it's such a great idea).

They sell plain gift tags with a hole already punched.  I bought pretty ones, glue, string and a flower you glue on ... PERFECT.  Easy, cheap and USEFUL!! Winner!  Plus, it's so easy, I can do it while I talk.  I have a pack of 20.

Ironically, I have a hostess gift for tonight, but no gift tag.  See -- it's going to come in handy to have a personal supply on hand!  I told her I went rogue on the craft and she said lots of people refused to do the craft and are just stopping over LOL.

So back to GOING tonight.  It's taking all my YES to stick with my yes.  It's an 1:20 away (and there will be traffic on top of it).  It's at night.  I'm oddly insecure about seeing everyone again (yet, excited too).  But, in the name of CONNECTION, VARIETY and keeping a promise to myself - I'm going.  Letting go of expectations and going with the intention of having fun (because that's up to me).  Also, managing the drive with a bunch of podcasts to keep me company.  I can do this.  I will do this.  AND I will come home with a CRAFT!!  Hahahaha.

In other news ....

My treadmill is not leveled and shakes like crazy on run speed.  A tech is coming EARLY this morning to fix it.  Ironically, it's a run day and the treadmill fix is messing up my timing.  Still figuring out if I should run outside before he comes or wait and use the treadmill.
