Quiet Saturday

Hike went off without a (stomach) hitch.  We walked trails at a park new to me -- best part of hiking club is finding new trails.  Interesting history.  A successful woman banker bought 150 acres of now prime real-estate land as conservation and affordable properties for woman who needed assistance in the 1960s.  She left it all to the parks commission and her charity which still funds homes for women on the property.  Lots of old abandoned houses (along with current housing) along the trails.  All shade, smooth trails.  There's an art center and community garden too.

Her original boat is now
part of the woods.

Here are my library books.

Stared this -- really like the story telling.

This is Reese Witherspoon's
bookclub pick.

Afternoon was a phone catch up with a friend.  The park was near Trader Joe's so I stopped to pick up things for a recipe too.  I wrote about it last year in The One Sentence Journal and the reminder had me craving it.  Nom Nom Paleo's golden fried cauliflower "rice" (asparagus, egg yolks, shallots, scallions, turmeric, sesame oil).  It's good.  Leftovers for lunch today.

Today's up in the air.  It's the last quiet day for a stretch and I'd like to putz around the house.  Hubby has other thoughts so I'll see what's what.  Summer temps and humidity have arrived so outside will be limited with the dogs.

Hope your weekend is going well.  Later gators.
