Third week in a row back to Asheville and you'll get no complaints from me (knock wood). I'm happy to get back to mountain air, chai teas (latest obsession) and lots of walking.
I've been busting my butt to get ready to go. Lots of plant management here -- watering, timer hoses and beetle netting. I have no idea what will survive. I'm picking a few cucumbers a little early just in case. Gardening is a HUGE learning curve. Packing and getting ready for entertaining is a lot more than a usual trip too.
Jasmine plant is in full bloom. The scent is incredible, especially after she gets watered. |
Some of the "work" to get ready is putting myself on the list. I made a stir fry to bring for lunch today, cooked sweet potato and made cold tomato soup. I packed more plants to propagate and a vase of flowers from the garden. Finished PRIDE rocks for our mountain walk on Saturday. Details that make ME happy. This weekend is a lot about others and making an effort for things for me makes a difference. When I get busy, I tend to take ME off first. Instead, I lightened some of the entertaining effort. Not baking -- I can buy dessert. Not cooking breakfast food -- just getting bagels and cream cheese. Good enough.
I mentioned some FS woes yesterday and I'm getting coached on it tonight. I'll wait to recap after coaching. It's nothing big, but it's a stand off between people pleasing and future self in a situation that I chose. Stay tuned :)
I have a full morning and then the drive to Asheville. I'll walk to the tea house for a little ME treat (calm before the storm) and then grocery shop for the weekend. Back home for a coaching call and BED! I slept like poo last night. I'll be tired tonight. Hopefully windows open and a good sleep.
Have a good one. Later gators.
