Hello, June

Asheville for another win.  Yesterday was a good day.

Started with coaching -- repeat coach.  We talked about my negative thoughts and buffering and how to notice them and makes some changes.

The hike was nice.  Narrow, rocky, wet trail but I made it without an issue.  3 miles with lots of shucking and jiving around rocks and such.  It was pretty but I didn't take any pictures because we were moving at a clip.  My neighbor likes to talk so I got an earful of chatting.  So many interesting wildflowers, but I didn't stop to really look at them.  Pros and cons of going hiking with someone.  It was very generous of her to take me and show me the ropes.  She's not a "stop and smell the roses gal" ... more of a "get a move on gal."  Both have merits.  It was nice to hike with someone so much fitter than I am.

Cleaning done and dusted (pun alert).  I have a few last minute things before I leave, but the big stuff is finished.

Took myself out to lunch at a vegan cafe because my usual place (as of late) was PACKED.  No seats available.  After lunch, I took a walk downtown for tea.  Got the special (again) and authentic chai with oat milk.  I got it 1/2 sweet.  I LOVE sweets, but I don't love sweet drinks -- weird, I know.  I was warm and thirsty from the walk so I need a cold drink too.  Both were fantastic.  This was my first real chai tea.

The cold drink is oblong
tea with lots of infused herbs.
It was a little sour and very refreshing.

Took a walk and hit a few vintage stores -- super bargains.

Windbreaker from the 1960s
Why are mirror selfies so hard?

It has a little shoulder seam rip.
I'll take it to get repaired.

Pink drinking glass -- love it.
Small dish for a plant.
Two jars for flowers.

It was a good, full day.  My back was pooped so I came home and hit the heating pad for the evening.  Reading and some TV on my laptop.  Dinner was leftover veggies I brought from home.

Today begins BIRTHDAY month (not that I celebrate all month), but today is my secret, private birthday celebration.  Lots and lots of ME today!  Recap tomorrow.  I have the big things planned -- mountain walk, massage and dinner, but the fill-in details will be last minute fun.

Oh, and my new birthday-to-birthday slogan is ...

"Walk until the day becomes interesting."  Rolf Potts.

More on this as the month goes on.  My birthday is 25 days away so no rush.  I also have to chat about the Little by Little goals for the year.

Later gators.
