I can barely move this morning. Stiff as, well, a stiff. Guess it's been too long since lunges. I had an outside run planned for today, but at 5 am it was 39 degrees and windy. Couldn't muster it. I wasn't prepared with proper clothes. I had no idea it would be that cold. Treadmill will win today.
There's a new barbell instructor hired to teach a couple of classes during the week. I'll give the classes a try and some of the other stuff too (barre, yoga). I think the biggest lesson since starting with Lift is the benefit of VARIETY to these old bones. I joined for yoga, switched to Tabata and finally moved to barbell. 6 days of running doesn't work anymore. Balance. It makes sense.
I like having some semblance of a schedule for the week. Once the shake up happens with Lift Studio, I'll plan a new routine. It helps to have an outline for what to do. Am I running, am I lifting, is it a class day, etc. From there, I plan the specifics week by week (what kind of run, what muscle groups for lifting, what class, etc). It's one of the reasons exercise is an ALWAYS for me - has been since I was in middle school. I plan to succeed. Why is that so hard on the food side of things?
Willie has a meet & greet on Saturday. She's looking for a therapy dog to visit with the elderly. Her golden passed away and she loves cock-a-poos. He might be too shy to fit that bill. Otherwise, it's a good match for him - lots of activity, lots of family, dotting mama. Fingers crossed.
I like the tongue pictures - so cute! |
Today is lunch with a friend. I'm not doing specifically W30 eating, just being reasonable. I have a lot of social things over the next two weeks, W30 wouldn't make sense. I'm doing well. Proud to say the Halloween candy is intact - seal is securely still in place. I buy the regular sized bars from Costco (there's always a rebate around Halloween). It's funny because I'll eat a bag of minis without a thought, but full sized bars keep me at bay (except one year ...oops). Kids think it's great. If only they knew the real reason lol.
Even though I didn't do my early, early morning outside run, I still want to do an earlier workout. I miss that a lot. I have another outside run on the calendar for Saturday. I won't need to do that as early since it's the weekend. Lots of traffic on the week days so I need to go out really early. It's going to be another cold one (I checked the weather) so this time I'll be prepared ... fool me once ...
This has been another speedy week. Can't believe it's already Wednesday. Happy hump day ... let's have a good one!
