Update Monday

Busy bee weekend.  Some fun, some not so fun.  Here's the scoop:

Redneck Driveway Happy Hour party was fun.  I made pigs-in-a-blanket.  Always a hit.  Didn't eat or drink, just socialized.  Nice night after the temperature finally dropped.

Hubby's work party was SO MUCH WORK!  Not to be mean, but most of the people were downright strange.  I faked "fun" all night long.  The food turned out really good (but people hardly ate - tons thrown out) and the bourbon punch was delicious.  Too delicious.  That was the only really popular thing.  The hard stuff hits me hard though - I behaved, but boy was I feeling lousy the next day.  When will I learn??  I think it's bourbon that I have issue with - happened with a couple of mixed bourbon drinks with a friend this summer.  All the "special" stuff I did for the gluten-free guest - he didn't eat ANYTHING!  Not one bite.  WTH.  How about a heads-up and then I wouldn't have made anything special. Anyway, to say I'm happy it's over is a HUGE understatement.

Sunday was brunch at the kids apartment.  Yummy food but I was hurting to get through it - that really made me so bummed I had the bourbon.  Then the Wine Festival.  Really well done, weather was nice ... but I still felt lousy.  Then back to our house for an early dinner and football.  Fun day made a little less fun by how crappy I felt.

Some of the lousy was my monthly fun, fighting a cold and no sleep (not just my hangover lol).  Dogs had night issues all weekend.  I think we've finally made it through with them.

I went to bed at 6:30p last night -- everyone was still eating and watching the game -- I feel asleep in my chair so I decided to go to bed.  Got up at 7a this morning.  I needed that MEGA sleep so much.  I feel better this morning.

My muscles are still toast from my workouts last week.  My back is really sore from party prep.  I'm making a same-day decision to take an extra rest day today.  If I want to push some workouts this week, I need to feel better and rested.  I don't even think a light workout is a good idea -- I'm sore like I'm on the verge of injury sore, not just tired.

That's the update.  Lots of stuff happening this week too (but not crazy like last week).  That can wait for tomorrow.  Later gators.
