Thank you shopping gods, my girlfriend and the most helpful sales associate ever. Thanks to my 'team', I now have the look I wanted for tonight.
It all starts with COMFORTABLE. It's a black dress, just above the knee (I'm wearing tights, so no pale legs), bell sleeves (not too over-the-top), super easy to wear fabric and ended up being inexpensive too! Add my cowboy boots and the necklace from Jen Hatmaker and I'm all set. If they are really casual (can't imagine) or really dressy, I'll fit in.
I got off easy with the dress cost, but as the sales gal introduced me to Hudson jeans with Elysian cotton. They are simply the most comfortable jeans EVER. And super expensive. They didn't have my length, so I ordered them online. I hope it's the same one (it's returnable if it's not). She said they last forever and are worth the investment. That might be oversell, but I promise the comfort factor is not.
I also bought some real-deal shape wear. Not spanx, some other brand the sales girl said was way more comfortable and less expensive. I didn't want super suck-in, I wanted smoothing ... lumps and bumps from underwear and such. Super suck-in gives me belly bloat lol!
Relief. Now fingers crossed for a fun night. Relax, breath, smile and repeat.
Some news on the foster front. Two dogs coming Friday. Both little, both male. The "ugly" one I already showed y'all. The other is a white cock-a-poo. Adorable and will adopt in a hot minute. They pulled 11 dogs this week and have no fosters open. We are all doubling up (some are triple or more). I don't know if I mentioned the little pom we were supposed to get (gigi 2 lol) but they adopted her straight out to their dog trainer. The system is full, they know him, he met the dog and fell in love. The rest is history. I was a little bummed, but there is no replacing our Gigi anyway.
I'm up early this morning for a split workout and chili prep. Lots of errands and such today too. Busy day - time to get moving. My INTENTION today is to SMILE and RELAX. This isn't high school and this isn't an actual problem!!
