The storms weakened before they crossed GA. We were lucky. I slept in the basement because the threat level was high -- dogs were freaks all night because of the different bedroom. Duke kept going upstairs and getting in our regular bed and barking. Little dogs are weird.
Yard is a mess, but not a big deal. I'll check on the new house later today. Waiting to hear about Asheville, but I think the storm kept weakening.
Hubby made it to Belgium.
Maybe, maybe, pretty please I'll get a good night's sleep tonight.
Thank you, universe. I'm grateful.
I had a really good start to the day. A marketplace listing posted for a Pottery Barn glass jar for $5 and it was on route to the new house. I'm switching some plastic containers to glass and want to thrift the jars. Winner. It's bigger than it looks in this picture.
Hubby and I hung out at the new house and talked window treatments, furniture placement, etc. It was my first time in the house since it's ours. We walked to lunch -- love our location in the town. I felt really good about this decision and the house. Phew. My feelings have been so mixed and leaning toward upset so it was nice to feel the excitement again.
Of course, came home to more information on storm front and then my nervous system went into overload. I need to work on controlling this more because life IS a constant threat these days. And how did I react? Yep, ate my way through the evening. Sweets and carbs. I'm embarrassed to even say it -- still can't control this during certain kinds of stress.
I have nothing on the calendar today. Workout, check on the house, clean up the yard -- that's it. I'll bring a carload to the new house too. We decided we'd never take an empty car to the house. I'm moving books and miscellaneous stuff today. They're still doing construction work so I'm cautiously moving things into areas that aren't being worked on and things we don't need here. The more we move, the cheaper the move, the less we waste packing materials.
Hope you are well and have a good Sunday. Later gators.
