A Good Monday

My recovery stats and sleep are slowly getting better. The oura ring said the same thing this morning -- something like, you're almost back to your recovery baseline. My guess is a couple more days and hormones will be leveled out.

I unloaded a car full of stuff at the new house, including the play kitchen. All the important things first lol. I had help loading it into the car so I thought it wasn't heavy. Guess that was because I wasn't lifting the heavy part -- my bad. It's heftier than I realized so I couldn't bring it into the basement myself.

Cushion fits the bench (Etsy). Baskets ordered (Wayfair).

Lunch with my cancel friend was nice to finally catch up. She tried to make a last minute time change and that's never for the good of our visit -- means she's scheduling something else and cutting our time short. I told her it wouldn't work and she held the original time. I kept tight parameters to the lunch for my schedule (and that's what we agreed on). I'm the one responsible to respect my time.

I'm hiking with the Tuesday friend group today. It should be a good hike and a good lunch. I'm leading the next two hikes. This one I know well, next week I barely know and it's complicated, but we want to see the special spring blooms -- more on that next week.

The park run went well. My pace is getting faster. I'd like to cut another minute or so off my mile times, but we'll see if that's possible with only running once (sometimes twice) a week. The last couple of years my pace has been about a 11 min/mile and I'm at a 9 min/mile now. Significant drop, but now each little bit gets harder. Eight minute miles is my standard 5k pace since about 40 years old and that's my target. The back injury (and probably peri) slowed me down a lot the last 5 years or so.

I'm getting Easter stuff together for my grandson and I decided to make his Easter basket out of a bag. Youtube for the win, but I didn't have the size bag I needed. I was on the lookout for one at a store. The lunch place yesterday had to-go bags that were the perfect size. Asked and answered, thanks universe. But I'd really be happy if the house sale could be answered too hah! More when I finish the basket.

Hope you have a good day. Later gators.
