The Green Dress Update

The Green Dress fits.  I CAN wear it.  I'd prefer it a little less snug on top, but it's now officially a success.  

It holds significance for a few reasons.  

First, I love this color green, but I own nothing green.  I decided a "happy" thing to do was to buy a green dress.  Why hadn't I done it before?  It's out of a color box for me, but green makes me happy. Now I add this color whenever I see something I like.

Second, I got a little "scammed" by a Facebook ad and wasn't able to exchange this dress for a larger size (long story).  I "fought" the scammer with no luck, but I didn't get upset and that was a HUGE win for my mindset at the time.  Accepted the circumstance (and the loss of $30).  Lesson learned.

Third, I thought about donating the dress, but realized I probably COULD fit into it if I got back in better shape ... a goal was born.  I'd been feeling out of shape for a long time and this goal was over a year in the making.

Yesterday, I tried it on for my weekly try on and it fit.  I took a couple of photos in the full length mirror in the spare room.  I was curious how it looked.  It doesn't LOOK like it should've taken that long to fit into LOL.  It's always been the upper part of the dress that wouldn't zip past my lower rib cage.  I tried it with a sweater with the thought of wearing it Christmas Eve (green color goes with the holiday).

Here's a kicker.  Winter means static cling and when you WALK around in the dress it actually shocks you hahaha.  Guess it's not for winter.  Static guard only helped a little.  Probably not for Christmas since I'll be moving around and working in the kitchen.  I'll keep trying it on for reference with plans to wear it this spring.  

I'm heading to Target this morning with low-ish expectations to buy 3 more gift cards.  My sister ran into the same issue in PA in a grocery store buying pre-paid Subway $15 cards.  Limit 2.  I guess this is a new regulation.  What a year to restrict gift card purchases.  Is this really helping money laundering??  Limit of TWO cards only no matter the amount??  I have no idea what amounts are available so I might need a lot more than 3 cards.  Ugh.  This might be one stop of several more.

Blue got up in the middle of the night last night.  First time.  He had to potty (full bladder and poop) and he begged to come in the big bed.  I let him.  I might have created a sleeping monster.  Not sure I can put that back in the box (or crate, as it were).  We SHOULD have only a few more nights with him.  He was really good in bed, but I didn't sleep well after that worrying about suffocating him under the covers -- he dives deep to lay by my feet.
