Wreath Making

Wreath Making 2019 was a success.  We started with a form, cut the various greens and wired it on.  It was surprisingly easy.  Very "natural" looking and fun to make.  I'm not crafty, but I seem to do well with flower stuff.  I loved the flower arrangement I did last year and this year my wreath was good too.  Not for nothing, there were some bad wreaths in the mix of people -- like really bad -- like the instructor had to step in to help -- ouch.  I have a feeling that will be me when I do chunky blankets this week.

I couldn't find a great place to use it so I hung it over a glass picture.  I was afraid it would leave marks on my white doors and I tried to find a place to use it flat, but nothing worked.

The class offered snacks, coffee, cake and sangria if you wanted.  The volunteers do all the setup and cleanup which is gold.  It's a fun time.  Most of the classes are cooking classes, but they started venturing into the floral department too.  I hope they do more.

Not the best picture to see the wreath, but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
DIL -- love hers too.
You can't see the subtle purple of
lavender and thistle, but it's nice in person.
And, I MADE THIS!!

Getting in touch with creative energy is not my thing, but when I do it, I really enjoy myself.  Maybe it should become "my thing."  I like doing it in a group.  Alone, I'm super impatient.

I overheard the instructor say she wasn't going to do the bow making because some people were having trouble with the wreath itself.  Bummer.  I'd really like to see how to make a bow.  Of course, YouTube could always teach me, but that's no fun :)  I like my wreath without a bow though -- simple.  My neighborhood craft group was thinking of doing bow making in December.  Guess that's not happening either.  Someday I will be taught how to make a bow LOL.

Today is breakfast (brunch) out with a friend and an afternoon mammogram.  I'm using another location because my usual place was oddly booked for months.  This isn't too far from me now that we moved north.

Hubby comes home later today too.  My quiet weekend is over.  Have to wait until next year for another home alone weekend.  I think he has 2 ski trips planned so far -- keep them coming.

Rosa seems to be doing well in her new home.  She's still in her nervous phase, but is progressing like she did with us.  Sweetest thing.  Her dads are so happy to love on her.

Time for a new week.  Getting closer and closer to Christmas -- eeekkkk.  I'm getting more and more behind.  This is a strange holiday season for me.  I'm home the entire time so I should be killing it -- instead I'm falling flat.

On that note, have a great day.  Later gators.
