Plants

It's that time of year -- all about the plants.

Since I moved a few pots outside again, there's room for a new indoor plant.  I found it at the supermarket weeks after St. Patrick's Day, but it's in decent shape after a quick transplant.  We'll see if she can survive all the condition changes.

I bought an app for my phone which identifies plants and gives a care plan, etc.  Picture This.  It was the most I've spent for an app -- and it's a yearly fee ($29).  I know my phone can do something similar, but I wanted the features of the app (more information, save "your garden", etc).

There's a bush that I walk by in our neighborhood and I love it.  The leaves are such a pretty green.  I wanted to plant a few behind our fence, but the conditions aren't right (needs more sun and less water).  It's call a Japanese pittosporum.  I might look for one for the front instead.  I have to keep looking for an option out back.  We need to plant outside of the fence because the back gets poisonous snakes and they like to shade under plants in the summer.

I ordered some seeds for pots too.  We are almost ready for outside planting.  Next few weeks -- I'm watching the weather.  I'll start a few pots inside in the meantime.

I'm going to do a flower pot too.  First one.  And, I'm hoping the wildflower seeds I planted will finally bloom.  They're growing like crazy, but no flowers yet.

The strawberry plant I have in an outdoor planter survived the winter and has a bunch of flowers.  I need to figure out fertilizer for everything -- that was my mistake last spring.

NO TV UPDATE:
It's actually been two days (I realized I didn't watch on Saturday either).  I wouldn't say yesterday was hard, but I had to keep reminding myself I needed to find something else to do.  I finished The Second Mrs. Astor.  It was average -- quick, easy read.  The beginning felt slow, but it picked up.  It felt like an incomplete story -- where it started, where it ended.  New book pick today.

We took the dogs to the park in the afternoon -- walked around, found some good rocks and then went to the small dog park.  Boys did great and hung with a few other littles pups.  I also painted a few more rocks when I got home -- experimenting with ideas.

I have a nail appointment today and I'm super excited -- my toes are a hot mess.  Taking the spring green I bought because they're color selection hasn't wowed my lately.

Spanish class tonight too.

I like this NO TV experiment.  Short enough not to freak me out, but it's going to make an adjustment I need -- yesterday already felt like it.

Happy Monday!  Have a good start to the week.  Later gators.
