In other news: I love Tuesday workouts this month. Interval run in the morning, arms at noon. Total body in the best way. Today is a rest day. Tomorrow: bum and hamstrings.
Lunch was good yesterday. This friend always has great conversations - loves to "go deep" as she says. It was some needed girlfriend time.
Today is up-in-the-air. I have tickets for a matinee movie with the youngest (ugh - I bought them ahead), but the foster pup might change that. Seeing Dunkirk, if time permits. We were going to take my pup for a swim, but the weather thought otherwise - thunderstorms all morning.
Here are my nails after about a week (I had them done last Thursday). Not bad for non-gel polish. I think this brand lasts longer. You can see some uneven, dent-like areas in my nails. Not sure if that's damage or my nails or this polish. But not a chip to be found. Seriously good! The color!?!? I'm ready for some chipping!
I keep hearing lots and lots about matcha. I finally gave in and ordered some. Once my current batch of cold-brew coffee is finished, I'm going to try a matcha smoothie. Hot water, matcha, coconut oil and collagen peptide powder (I drink this in my tea every day) whizzed in a blender. Here's the official recipe. I'm going to simplify it -- not as much fat added. This might be good before a workout with some protein on the side.
I have my tickets purchased for Canada. My flight leaves at 6:30am - the airport is an hour away + time to park + security ++++ . OMG. Middle of the night wake-up call. But I said YES. I need to go back to YES.
When I get in a funk, I tend to say YES when conditions are "perfect" and easy and NO when there is any little bump in my way. And guess what - life is bumpy. NO wins too many times. Forcing myself back to BALANCE and back to YES.
YES won yesterday and I'm so glad. YES to a lunch with a friend even though that meant meeting at 2pm to work around my workout. Didn't miss anything (including some fun times with the girls at Lift). I got my fill of people-time and it made a HAPPY difference in my day.
Reviewing My Happiness Project, I'm reminded to look for something special in the day - usually something small and quiet - hiding in the moment. Learn something, say YES to something, notice something, find something that hides in plain sight. Those little "somethings" add up. They take an ordinary day or moment and make them worthy of something more.
That's my poetic inspiration for this rainy Wednesday!
