A Real Rest Day

Today is a total rest me-day.

The hike last night kicked my butt -- in a good way and in an achy knee way. That means real-deal activity rest (no easy walk). My knee is sore (feels a little injured) so I'm letting it totally rest before another hike tomorrow. My back is also aggravated. We hiked very quickly with a lot of elevation. I loved it, but my body is yelling today.

This hike leader is moving at the end of the month so just a couple more of these hikes. I might try for one more in a couple of weeks. I hope with some build up, I can start handling these hikes. I don't mind muscle soreness, but this is on the "injury" side of pain and not something to push through. There are other ones that are a little slower, less elevation and a bit shorter too -- same trails, different evening.

I got a tablecloth -- handmade and hand stamped. I love it. I wanted something for the main table. It's a little off in size, but it works. I'll use it for my book lunch event I want to host this year.

So what's in store for this ME rest day?? Painting my toes -- always an adventure between my flexibility and eyesight. The new nail salon I go to is closed on Tuesdays (I had no idea) and that's the only day I can easily go for a couple of weeks. I'm going to try and prolong the professional pedicure for a couple of weeks.

Hubby is golfing so I'm solo for most of the day. Reading, podcasts, some volunteer work and a few quick errands. Nothing time sensitive so I can do whatever I want to do. It feels really good to have a day like this -- it's been a long time.

I saw this on IG and I like it -- good reminder. Later gators.
