Mother's Day 2022 in the books.
It was a good day (!!)
Started with the hike. Had to shave off 2 miles because my back was bothering me -- too many hills on the second half so we turned around a bit before halfway. Super fun to leave the HAPPY rocks. I ended up bringing about 10 to place. Someone made a rock garden along the path with a saying that I can't tell is meant to be loving or conservative garbage. "When you clean your language, you clean the world and ethics and respect will return." I took it to mean use INCLUSIVE language, but now I wonder if it's about censorship -- eek. Guess I get to choose what it means to me.
The kids haven't been over for a long time (we've been going to them). Dinner was good. We chatted about plants, picked carrots -- my kids have never done that (still "mothering" them lol). Looked at the bowl of rocks and the fairy village. They're going to rock paint one of these days too. Pingpong and dog time too.
Zucchini plants appear to be showing up already. Blossom appeared during the day.
Open in the mornings. |
Eldest and DIL got me stuff to dapple in calligraphy. That'll be fun to try -- pens, an instruction book and paper. Youngest got me another box of adventure stuff -- food, books, etc. Looking forward to that arriving too. Hubby gifted new ibuds because mine are on the fritz. Pretty nice score for the day :)
My cousin is coming to visit today -- lunch and the afternoon. I haven't seen her in about 7 years. I hope we can fill 4 hours of talking (!!)
This week is another week of rushed mornings. That kind of bums me out, but it is what it is. I wish I could figure out how to fill afternoons instead. Thursday the grand dogs come for 10 days. Lots going on so I need to make sure I give myself what I need too.
Have a great start to the week. Later gators.
