I was looking for vintage graphic t-shirt looks for a black pleated skirt and jean jacket I've never worn -- too much Pinterest scrolling. Couldn't find what I was looking for, but found a t-shirt for working out. Remember this??
The hair comb for the wedding came (Etsy). It's so much more sparkly in-person and it's exactly what I wanted. A little sparkle without looking like I'm in the bridal party. It's nicely balanced so it sits in my hair well. The only thing left is the rehearsal dress -- that comes next week. Woo hoo (!!) Of course, I need to figure out my hair and makeup, but all the elements will be ready to dress this old gal.
Hair appointment today and I'll be chatting up some hair questions. In a couple of weeks, I'm going to be practicing on the regular until I feel confident that it looks nice and it will hold all day. Prepare for lots of pictures hahaha.
Did I mention the wedding is now 4 o'clock again? They felt it fills the day better without rushing to get ready. Makes sense.
I finished the young adult classic that I bought on a whim. Jen Hatmaker bookclub asked about favorite childhood reads and so many people named this book -- so many that I got sidetracked (suckered lol) into reading it. It was written in the 1950s and you can tell -- "son, woman are different, they cry." "A classic about a boy and his dogs." True. But also a story about hunting -- his dogs are hunting hounds. Not my cup of tea, but I finished it. Where the Red Fern Grows (Wilson Rawls). I can see why it's a classic and very forward for it's time, but the "adventure" was all about the hunting kill. Onto something new ...
I need to realign my day again. I've drifted back into the habit of rushing to get everything finished early -- then NOTHING all afternoon. It doesn't make sense. Pace it out, slow down. This week has a number of chores and longer to-do lists and I'm racing through each day like it's a timed competition.
This Friday we are doing a date night and watching Promising Young Woman on Prime. It's getting tons of buzz and making the rounds on podcasts, etc. A revenge thriller with lots to love. It's expensive -- $19 for 48 hours of watching. I told the kids and maybe they'll watch it Saturday. Treating this like a night out at the movies. We need a little fun.
Hope you find a happy bit in your day. Stay well. Later gators.
