Food tour was so much fun. I have no idea why my pictures are loading up wonky, but here they are ... 5 restaurants, 5 cocktails, 5 small plates and 2 historical stops. Everything was yummy and I stuck with sips of the cocktails since I was driving and passed on dessert (all cream based so it was easy).

Start of the tour - oldest church in Atlanta. Also the most liberal church in Atlanta! |

Korean-Mexican fusion. The wing was hard to eat, but both were spicy and delicious. |

Super duper spicy martini. WOW - my favorite! |

We made these ourselves table-side. Fun and creative! |

We learned the church stood for over a 100 years because it pioneers unity and acceptance - St. Mark United Methodist Church. It was beautiful. In the spring, we're going for a Sunday service and brunch. Love, love, love ACCEPTANCE.
Also, Atlanta had 2 fires so the phoenix is symbol of its rebirth.
Downtown, Midtown (and the 4th district - Ponce Market) and Buckhead make up the distinct areas.
We saw the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Margaret Mitchell's home where she wrote Gone With the Wind. She was killed crossing the street in her 40s so that was her only book. She wrote it because she was bored - dang! Apparently, she was quite an interesting woman - I want to go back and tour the house.
We also saw Mansion Alley and learned it was moved after the second fire. The first group of wealthy mansions were sacrificed to stop the fire.

Today
I'm still working hard on ENJOYING the day and not tasking through the day. I had a great time on the food tour and stayed "in the moment," but then went back to task mode. I have my head above water, but barely.
My intention for this trip is to STOP and CALM DOWN and ENJOY. Nature at its best. We have NO plans, no schedule, lots of driving and lots of chill time. I was a little bummed to be traveling during December, but maybe it's exactly what I need. Saturday is the Grand Canyon, Sunday is Sedona. Friday and Monday are travel days. Bam. How to do AZ in 48 hours LOL.
As far as my URGE list goes - no new entries. Progress. I thought I'd have a struggle after the food tour, but I was busy and tired enough that I had no issue. I pre-made a healthy dinner and went to bed early.
I finished John Maxwell's 15 Laws of Personal Growth last night too. It was good. Lots of stuff I've heard before. The best chapter for me this read was on CHANGE (since that's what I'm focused on now). He talked about how change is first LETTING GO of an identity BEFORE the new identity is established and that's the hardest time - TRANSITION. You haven't seen the benefit from the change, you might not have total confidence in the change and you are letting go an identity that is familiar. This is when people quit. This is when you need to push through. You can't get to the new identity before letting go of the old. Sometimes it's an easy, quick process and other times it's HARD. Thanks for the reminder John.
I have a new book for this trip. The Dark Side of the Light Chasers - Debbie Ford. More on it later! I also need to find a fun read for the trip too. I want something easy, junky and lighthearted.
I may or may not get to check in tomorrow. If not - see you Tuesday! Later gators.
