Cucumbers (!!)

The massage was excellent -- the kind where you can barely function to get dressed. Thank you to my sister for a lovely morning. On a side note ... had a fun chat with the receptionist about all things cucumber and tomatoes. Connecting over veggie gardening is fun :)

Tomato plants are trimmed and staked. I got the first two golden cherry tomatoes. I think a lot are set to ripen while we're away which totally bums me out. My neighbors will get the reward for all the hard tomato work lol! 

I shared a bunch of cucumbers and herbs with a neighbor yesterday. That was part of the garden fantasy -- veggie to share. So far, I'm sharing a lot and more to come while I travel. My two original cucumbers plants are at their height now and should be tapering soon (25 cucumbers in 2 days and lots more growing). Cucumbers produce fast and burn out fast. I have a couple growing in the wings and I hope to plant at least one more.

Today is a pure fun day -- easy breezy and no pressure (that's coming ahead of Tuesday's trip).

High school zoom call for my birthday. Lunch at a possible rehearsal dinner venue with the kids. Home to add water and bake an angel food cake for Father's Day (my son's favorite). 

I made a strawberry coulis yesterday and it's delicious (strawberries, sugar, lemon juice -- cook down, puree, and strain). Father's Day lunch is actual lunch. Sandwiches, chips, fruit and cake. Doing a little tomato, basil, cheese toothpick with fancy oil and balsamic. Super duper easy. Kids have dinner plans that night so keeping it extra easy, but it'll be good.
