Volunteering went well. It rained all evening so no hike. Not exactly a double-stuffed day, but I was dead on my feet by the afternoon.
I might be getting sick. Or I'm rundown. Or my monthly is coming. I slept long and hard last night, but I woke up with a little sore throat and a bit of a tickle cough. That said, yellow pollen has begun and that might be the culprit.
I decided to leave for Asheville tomorrow instead of this morning because I was so tired yesterday and wasn't up for chores before I left. It's not as convenient, but I really can't muster the energy to make today work. I need to be home by Sunday morning to (fingers crossed) see our grand baby.
I got a stack of used books in the mail. All recommendations from Currently Reading Podcast. So much for getting my TBR pile under control.
I'm reading "Iron Flame" right now. It's good, but not as captivating as the first book so far. The print is a lot smaller too and that slows down my reading pace. She's a long, long book! I also have a library book ready for pickup. Always a reading feast.
Remember the stack I brought for Puerto Rico? I only read 3 books. We talked on the beach -- no reading time. The 3 books were all airport/plane reading.
"Seabiscuit" -- surprisingly good. It was well written and kept me interested the entire book. It was more non-fiction than I expected. It might be non-fiction actually -- with maybe a few assumptions.
"A Court of Thorns and Roses" -- total beach read. Fun fantasy and romance.
"The Stationary Shop" -- easy read. More love story than I thought. I liked it.
The other 3 books went back to the TBR pile.
That's all from here. I'm ready for a chill kind of day -- plenty of time to get everything done. Hopefully, I shake the "sick" and, if not, I don't need to be home by Sunday morning to see the baby. Have a good day. Later gators.
