Yesterday was a productive day. Here's the scoop.
I chose a dress to wear for the wedding. I was all set to wear and style this black dress. It's silk with a full black slip underneath. The problem is the top fits me a bit frumpy, but it works better than the other one I ordered (both are being returned today). I picked out jewelry, bag and shoes and was okay with the choice so I hung it in the closet (thankfully, didn't remove the tags).
When I hung it, I noticed an Anthropology dress I got this summer. I had another hook and eye closure added to the neckline, but I've never worn it. It's too fancy for a lunch date, but is it enough for a wedding? The wedding is on a Sunday afternoon (3-8pm) and mostly outdoors (it's going to be almost 90 -- ugh). I had negated it originally, because I thought it would be fall-like temps in CO and this feels summery. I sent an SOS out to "my girls" asking them to weigh in on an opinion on both dresses and everyone chose the blue dress. YEEEESSSSS!!! I feel much better in this option.
It's definitely not formal attire, but the neither is the wedding. My DIL texted and told me some of the bride's family will be super casual -- maybe even dressy jeans. This will work just fine.
Fingers crossed on the returns -- the dresses are expensive and returns make me a bit nervous (doesn't everything lately though!).
I picked out a few books for the trip and started this one. If I'm not finished, I'll bump one of the other books and take this. I think it's going to be GOOD!
I showed up to Spanish class and my presentation went well -- woo hoo. Past tense sucked (my pronunciation) but I'm trying. I probably won't make next week's class because of the flight home, but I already have another presentation assignment since I was only 1 of 2 of us that was ready for the first one (5 of us in class). It's good practice for me though. AND, I'm proud I showed up.
USS Arizona tickets are all set for our Hawaii trip. Woo hoo for this too. I stayed up late to get them.
I also got ahead on my calendar of things-to-do this week. Today is another big day but I feel more relaxed.
I have a run/walk scheduled at the park and this morning is the coolest morning of the season so far. Outside will feel nice today.
Hope you're having a good week too. Later gators.
