Good-Bye October

That's a wrap on October.  We had an unusually warm day yesterday, so I'm back to complaining it doesn't feel very fall-like.  I think we're do for a temperature drop after the rain today.

I like fresh start days.  New year, new month, new week, new morning.  I'll take the new month today.  I ate rather crappy last night (say cheese) and I feel it this morning.  It was a great idea to eat crappy when I finally feel better -- said me, but I was wrong.  So today I welcome a new start with a new month.

Hello November.  I think we're going to be good friends.

(((Can I add a quick side-note here ... I discovered a rip in my best chair (where Duke "nests").  Matching set of EXPENSIVE chairs with a big rip down the middle of one.  I don't know if it can be repaired.  I'm having a bummed moment.  I need to accept what IS, but first I want to be upset about it.  Dang!)))

Anyway, last night was fun.  I ran around between setting up, dogs and people -- it was a crazy night. I only managed 2 pictures in the beginning and then it got dark and I gave up.

Too much CANDY!!

Duke -- seat stealer (and my chair ripper!!)

I made the Bon Appetite recipe for slow cooked fish, charred cabbage and grapefruit (I posted about it last week).  It's loosely a recipe because you basically just cook everything.  That said, it was really good.  The citrus flavor was good and I loved the charred cabbage.  Something different (but easy) to add to rotation.

Took a picture for my PHB pal - here's a screen shot because I didn't save the photo.
It was lunch and I didn't bother to make it PRETTY, but it tasted great.

I bought the new Whole30 cookbook.  It came yesterday.  All the Whole30 coaches are doing recipes from it and it looks good.  I needed some more Instant Pot options.  Stay tuned ...

Boxing was fun yesterday.  The usual instructor wasn't there and the "hard" one substituted the class.  We ended up kickboxing and it was way better than her usual complicated routines.  I had a thought to go again today since I have to take a break from boxing, but I got up later than normal.  I need to see if I can make it happen.  The dogs take a long time and I still want to get in my morning routine for ME.  Otherwise, treadmill for the win (it's raining out).

You know I'm doing two 21-day things (meditation and Gretchen Rubin habit change).  I also have a 3 week (21 day) exercise restriction after Friday.  21 is one of my favorite numbers (probably everyone loves it ... it's a great number ... right??).  Anyway, I'm thinking very hard about a 21 day challenge -- starting today since it's the new month.  21 is showing up so why not amplify the fun (challenge) at bit.

21 days of cleaning up my shit.  Not Whole30 exactly, but something close.  Food freedom a bit stricter.  My only hesitation is we are going away in 10 days and do I want to hold during those days away -- I think I do though.  I need a little clean up and while I'm on exercise restriction, it's a good mental focus.

No dairy
No grains
No alcohol
No sugar
No snacking

I also listened to an interesting podcast yesterday and it has me really thinking.  I'll post about it tomorrow, since time is pushed this morning.  Bug guy coming today - got to be ready!!  It's already 8 o'clock ... later gators.
