Windows Open

One my favorite things about Asheville is OPEN WINDOW weather.  (Atlanta is too humid.)  I slept well in the cool night and I'm enjoying morning drinks listening to the outside noises and feeling the cool air.  Asheville's mountain air was thought to help with TB back in the 1920s.  Whether it did or didn't, I see why people love the mountain air.

We got in yesterday and I drove to the teahouse.  Weekend parking is inexpensive ($3) so I treated myself to a shorter walk because I was tighter on time.  They changed their menu and I had a moment of panic, but the traditional chai is just renamed.  It's so good and not at all the sugary bottled stuff most shops use.  Takes awhile to make because it's from scratch every time.

I had enough time for a quick walk through the antique market.  It's almost like a flea market -- prices are great.  I found a few goodies.  Pictures to come.

Back for 3 o'clock bookclub.  I sat outside and got absolutely pummeled by tree pods (similar to acorns) every time a squirrel ran across branches.  It was funny.  Bookclub was just 3 of us -- the gal who moved to Paris joined in.  These 2 ladies are my favorite conversation group.  We talked about so many interesting topics related to the book, but less "bookclub" questions.  Feels like there's hope for this group again.

We came to Asheville to prep the house for the kids to use next week.  My DIL turns 30.  Setting up a few decorations.  I wanted to make sure this fit -- it looks good.

I was able to cook and prep munchies for Happy Hour tomorrow -- salmon cakes and pinwheels.  I need to clean over next 2 days -- total house needs it.  I also need to do the HW for volunteering -- there's a lot this week.  A bit of work, but I'm making time for the fun things too.

A long walk (after the Peloton).  Another stop at the teahouse.  Early dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.  Work in-between it all.  It should be a good day.

I read this book yesterday (between teahouse reading and reading while football was on).  It was fast and fun.  Lots of twists.

It doesn't feel like a Monday, but it is and Asheville is a good way to start the week.  Maybe the mountain air will cure what ails me too.  Later gators.
