Pride Month

I had such a fun day babysitting our grandson. We had him all afternoon and evening -- played non-stop. He's at the age where playing is absolutely fascinating. I love watching his little mind figure things out and explore.

Up early for 2nd of 3 bigger hikes this week. The 10 miler was lovely -- cool morning, good pace. Loved it. Today's hike is a little easier 8 miles, but a longer drive (90 minutes each way). I've hiked some of this before, but we're hiking large waterfall that I want to see -- hence the early morning, long drive. I expect this will be one and done with the club because of the long drive. We're doing a drop car, carpool to another trailhead thing. Otherwise this would be an advanced, technical hike. This is a way I can see the falls at a level I can hike. Good news is bathrooms at both trail heads.

But, boy, I wanted to sleep in this morning. I guess watching a 15 month took it out of me. I'm tired in the way that I'm pining for bed tonight already. As usual though, I won't regret choosing to hike.

The next couple of weeks are full again. Jumping from thing to thing -- all good things, but it feels like a lot. I'm STILL working on balance. I'm behind with chores and settling the house and overwhelm is creeping in. It's not necessary and I need to stop thinking ahead so much because it's making it worse. I also need to schedule a little bit less to leave time for the quiet things I love.

I'm thinking about my secret birthday celebration and haven't landed on anything yet. It might be something small this year because it looks like family and friends celebrations are bigger than usual. This is fun too -- always feels nice to be celebrated.

I started back with Spanish yesterday and I've forgotten most everything. Wow. I need to quit quitting (!!) Maybe this will be the time it sticks more consistently.

It's PRIDE month and that means PRIDE rock painting. I have 5 finished, and 5 to go. Here are 4 of the ones I finished. Next up are some new designs I'm trying. Stay tuned.

This book was really good. Not thrilled with the final, last little ending (too perfect), but otherwise 4.8/5 stars. This is an author who consistently makes me cry. She gets grief from being mainstream, but that's because she earned the popularity. I get a new book pick today and have no idea what's even in the running -- fun search tonight.

Got to get moving. Hiking sammie to make, Spanish to review, dogs to get fed. Hope you have a good Monday and are set for a nice week. Later gators.
