We've been busy beavers working on both the houses. Home inspection today and we spent the morning cleaning, yard work, etc. The house looks good. Fingers crossed for a good inspection.
There's a list of so many little things that need to be done as we continue to settle this house. Donation drop, organizing, forever hanging things.
We got the curtains hung in my office. I went for inexpensive curtains and they're a bit short, but the price was right. I can't believe how expensive some curtains have become -- not worth it. These soften the room. Linen blend, unlined so light comes through. Hanging pictures today or tomorrow.
I have similar inexpensive curtains in my craft room. I ordered really drapes for the slider doors in the family room -- I wanted better quality in the main area. We'll do shutters and wooden shades for the two upstairs floors.
This week has been a bit of marketplace shopping. I got a rubber booster seat for the table for my grandson. Picked up 4 large pots and one indoor pot -- large pots had veggies and herbs in them. He offered to dump it, but I took them with the plants. Why not. Today I'm picking up a box slide like my kids had -- perfect for our grandson. Marketplace has some good pricing if you are careful and I like reusing things.
I'm in the final throws of organizing the chai making class next week at the charity I support. As expected, but still disappointing, people are dropping out. Holding a commitment is a lost art these days. It's very frustrating, but I don't want it to prevent me from organizing things. Trying to find that balance.
I've said before, female friendships at this age have proven to be way harder than I expected. I've changed, others have changed. A lot of clashes wrapped up in those changes. Politics and a pandemic haven't helped either.
The Tuesday hiking group added someone and I don't like her at all. She's all the things I've worked hard to move away from -- in myself and in others. Now what to do? She has a very strong personality and, frankly, won't shut up. She dominates the hiking conversation and I hike and fume listening to her.
Anyway ... not enough time to go into this today. You know I'll revisit it haha and maybe look to get some coaching on it.
Hope you have a good day. Date lunch with hubby today after we run errands. Later gators.
P.S. Baby stick bug. Love him. We sent him on his way outside -- hang on little buddy. He's the size of a dime.
