Birthday month is here.
I like that my birthday is halfway through the year. It's fun opportunity to plan with intention and revise or tweak January's plan. What do I want my life to be? How do I want to feel? How do I want to show up? How's the year going? Am I on track?
I'm nicely on track with 25 for 2025 goals -- outstanding, of course, are the Spanish items. Spanish study is back on my radar for my birthday year focus. I've registered for classes in July (not offered in June) and brought back out my books. "Summer of Spanish." I know I need to be very intentional or it won't happen (even a little). More on this later -- I have a decent plan as long as I execute it.
I'm also taking this year to hone in on those things I love and love doing. Not particularly adding new things, but diving deeper into what's already working. Hiking, rock painting and creative projects, gardening, friendships, COLOR, community, etc. It's a hardy list and I don't need more (except Spanish), but I want to take these things and have fun with them. You find what you focus on.
My new birthday phrase is very similar to the one I ended on ("how can I live this now"). The THIS is what the new phrase is building on. I do a future self, perfect, ordinary day visualization exercise (Martha Beck). The visualization always starts in a little blue house -- not sure why, but it's what I picture. The house has become a symbol for the things I want to be, feel, live. Since Spanish is back, the phrase is in Spanish ... la casita Azul.
Something similar to this house. |
I'm excited for this year and the start of my birthday month. Of course, my birthday isn't until the end of the month, but June 1 feels like a good starting point.
I hope June is a great month for all of us. Later gators.
