It's really feeling like a move now. Kitchen, clothes, rock painting supplies -- all in process. And almost all my books (I still have about 20 in my bedroom, but they'll move this week).
It's oscillating between sad and exciting. Very, very slowly I'm seeing the new house take shape with potential to feel like our home. The more of our things that leave this house, the less this house feels like home now. We're in that big transition period -- not really belonging to either right now.
Here's the start to my bookshelves. Nothing is arranged yet, but I want to group books so I could remember what I've read, etc. and get them off the floor.
The middle case is the door to the workout room. |
The closet is big, but I like our closet here better because we got to design exactly what we needed. I'll have to reconfigure my things for the new closet. We might get a dresser for the middle of the room, but for now, my office ottoman fits.
The furniture moves on April 17 & 18. We still have a lot of time to work on moving the little things.
The kitchen is coming together better than I expected. We have a lot of drawers and very few cabinets. I thought I'd hate that, but I might be wrong. It seems easier to grab things from drawers -- unexpected win. We also have a pantry that's double the size of what we have here.
I'm a routine person and having things work differently when they work well now has me all up in feelings. There is no doubt that this move is an opportunity to practice a lot of reframing and openness to "different" -- maybe a little too much opportunity lol.
Today is another hodgepodge day. Straddling a lot of things. Lots of move stuff, but my plants need to be watered. I'm hiking and fitting in a pickup from Marketplace. Prepping food for the week while I pack more of the kitchen. You get the idea.
Best get at it. Still fitting ME into the day as much as I can. Hope you have a good one. Later gators.
