Let the slow-paced week begin. I really haven't had this kind of a week in a bit. It's a nicely balanced week -- not too full, not too lean.
I'm a ways off from feeling like myself. Hot flashes are calming down a little, but night sweats haven't changed. I feel off too. Oura ring is noting something isn't as usual and I agree. Hah -- typing this and hello, hot flash. It's going to take a minute for the hormones to kick in and maybe a minute to adjust to what relieves the symptoms.
I'm moving forward on the next steps for the garden. I ordered 2 more beds and soil. Once I have those in, I'll get irrigation to the beds. The sprinkler guy came out and it looks like it'll work well. My goal is 3 beds of veggies, one of picking flowers. Next year begins converting the landscaping to native plants -- this'll be over a few years. I have a lot to learn first and some experimenting to do before I go all in. This is the fun of gardening (so I tell myself).
Today is a bookclub adjacent lunch. The woman I met up with in Paris is back for a visit and a couple of us are meeting up. We're headed to a restaurant just up the street from me. I arranged the details and it was EASY. These are ladies who hold their commitment and it was so nice to relax into knowing the plans are happening (baring an emergency). No back and forth, no last minute changes, no last minute cancelations. I texted to confirm (remind) and got immediate responses back. Usually a reminder text prompts cancelations and excuses. This is rare these days.
As far as the rest of the day -- not sure. I'll run this morning in the cool weather and take my dog for a longer walk. After lunch is totally free and I'm on a struggle bus to have the energy and motivation to do anything later in the day. It's absolutely hormones. I'll probably compromise -- do a little, sofa-slug a little.
I'm watching The Pitt finally and it's as good as they say. I'll be hitting up a couple more episodes this evening.
Book update -- I'm reading some library reads with more on the way. This one was such a disappointment. It was so good and I couldn't figure out what was what and who did what -- and still have no idea. I googled the ending and I guess that's the "thing" about this book. No one really understands the ending. Everyone has a different opinion on what happened and not in a clever way, just in a confusing way. It's unclear who a narrator is for some of the chapters so it's not possible to know for sure. Guess the title is meant to be ironic. It left me frustrated, not impressed with the misdirections.
Started this yesterday and it's good so far. About 50 pages read.
That's all from here. Waiting for it to get light to head out in 67 degree weather. Awesome. It won't last, but it's been a welcomed break from the heat. Later gators.
