October in Mass

I'm going to go back to talking about everyday things. At this moment, there's nothing I can do to help Asheville. This will change as the situation moves from the immediate emergency phase and we'll be ready to do what we can to help our neighbors and friends.

We are heading to a wedding outside Boston this weekend. My heart's not feeling it, but we need to go to celebrate a good friend's daughter. Once we're there, we'll have a good time -- fingers crossed. We were looking forward to some couple travel this year. Last trip was mostly a bust (thanks to COVID) so we're trying again. Not off to the best start, but I'm trying to rally.

We're staying about an hour outside of Boston and I did a little looky-loo and found a hiking park nearby. Nothing strenuous, just a nice walk through nature reserve park. Fall in Mass sounds nice. We'll get in by mid-day so hopefully we have some time to do a walk on Friday. Saturday is a morning wedding and festivities all day. We leave Sunday morning. Quick trip.

Check, check, check
for this weekend.

I'm going to start preliminary packing today because the next couple of days are pretty full. I was planning to be in Asheville until today so I have nothing on my calendar. It's not going to be difficult packing, but it is detailed -- got to remember the shoes and hair stuff and Spanx, etc.

Here was a little pick from the garden this week. Beans are coming even with the leaf-rollers hitting hard. I only have about a month more of the garden before the frost. Greens are amazing -- big salad everyday.

Sweet potato flowers.
Rare to find, but you
need to pick them so
energy goes to ground.

Little pepper gremlin

I didn't notice they were growing

I've been on a reading break for about a week. Nothing was interesting to me so I decided a little reading cleanse could help. I'm back at it this week. Finished this last night. Interesting behind-the-scenes for pastor selection.

My favorite park of packing is figuring out which books to bring for the plane. I'll decide today and since it's a quick trip, I'll have room for actual books (not just kindle -- which still has some odd COVID vibes lingering).

Okay, that's an update. Hope your week is going well. Later gators.
