I have a convergency of anxiety points and I woke up in a fret this morning. Promptly made an hour-by-hour list for today and ate the frog first on a couple of things weighing on me. Already feeling improved.
Sometimes the "best" action in the morning isn't all the peaceful messaging, journaling, reflecting. Something I just have to get shit done. Sometime I can't "go with the flow" of the day. Sometimes I need to rigidly schedule myself so I know everything will get done and I'll be okay.
I'm learning to know what I need.
What has me up in arms? Travel (always). Dock strike (hoarding has begun - Costco was a MESS). Chores (things that must be done before our trip). Asheville house (our neighbor is going in our house to check on the basement today). Asheville (seeing too many storm videos -- I have a particular fear of moving water). Election (debate focused me again on the what-ifs).
I scheduled in my relaxing, mental health stuff today -- it just wasn't the first thing I did this morning.
I also looked into what holds for the dock strike (bananas seem to be the headline) and I ordered some things that are running low in my house. I'll stop today and pick up some other things from the store. Not hoarding or overstocking, but making sure nothing is running low. I thought Costco was strange yesterday, but had no idea what was happening. I stopped in because I needed Collagen peptides and lines were to the back of store.
I finished this book yesterday. Very fun suspense book. The ending was a little wrapped-up-in-a-bow, but I enjoyed the book a lot.
New sheets because mine got a huge, thread-bare rip. I like mixing patterns and colors lately. I've been team neutral for most of my life and that seems to be changing over the last few years. I like the pattern, but the bottom sheet pops -- elastic is strange (some reviews thought so too). These might become my backup sheets if they don't behave.
I tried on the dress for the wedding to decide on shoes. I'm wearing an elevated ballet-like shoe and it's comfortable and I'm so happy about it. A little "old lady" but I can walk well in it so old lady be damned.
I ordered some interesting variety of garlic from Johnny Seeds over the summer and they don't mail until planting time. Guess what came yesterday? Plant immediately or store in 50-60 degree area (no refrigerator). What area is that temp?!?! So I need to plant before I leave (hello, anxiety). Garlic takes 9 months to grow so I need to plant it thoughtfully. Shit timing. Time to watch a garlic video ...
Hope you have a good day. I'm getting a little babysitting time this afternoon -- highlight of my day. Later gators.
