Back to Asheville

Hello. Been a couple of days. I'm under the weather -- not really sick, but not well either. We're leaving for Asheville this morning. Lots to do, of course.

Can I complain for a minute? I baked the last 2 days. We're getting pizza takeout on Saturday at my sister's house and she's making a salad. I'm making dessert for 12 of us and I decided to make a bunch of cookies. My sister called yesterday and she bought cookies and brownies for Saturday. Then hubby went to Costco and bought a box of cookies for the weekend. Seriously?!?! They BOTH knew I was baking cookies. What an absolute waste of my time and energy when my energy is wonky this week.

Ugh. No good deed.

Anyway, the garden is growing and I hope it handles me being gone for 5 days. I ended up taking out the eggplant because it's stopped fruiting. I was using it to shade the herbs.

Peas starting.
Peppers.

Thai basil and eggplant.
Radish in the corner

Greens and peas behind

Something is eating the cabbage.
Radish sprinkled around.

Quick hello this morning. Off to pack up the car -- tons of stuff heading to Asheville for dogs and a toddler.

I'm counting on Asheville to give me a boost this weekend and fingers crossed I'm not actually getting sick. First time back with the family since last September -- just before the big storm.

I didn't mention that the Asheville house tours were inspirational. My bedroom isn't quite right yet. I know what's missing and I know how to fix it. It'll take awhile to find the art and the rug, but I'm excited for a do-over and it'll be fun to hunt for items that I love. Leaning into some creativity and personal expression.

Have a good one. Later gators.
